Carbon Limits has cooperated with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and Ministry of Environment on flare and methane emission reductions since 2016 covering assessment of project opportunities, training and institutional capacity building and scrutiny into climate and carbon financing as a means to accelerate mitigation efforts.

Discussions are ongoing on starting carbon credit pilot projects for flare and methane emission reductions. ICA-Finance has collaboration partners in Baghdad, including the Iraqi Green Climate Organization.
